If you’re interested in learning about the brewing process, then this course is for you!
This course is designed to introduce core brewing skills and professional equipment to individuals with no previous brewing experience. Whether you’re a home brewer or want to introduce brewed coffee to your business, this course will introduce you to the theory and technique needed to get the best out of the brewed bean. You will develop working recipes and techniques, learning the differences between immersion and percolation brewers as well as the various filtration methods.
You will finish the course able to make a brewed coffee to be truly proud of.
• Introduction to coffee/origins/coffee species
• Processing profiles
• Strength and extraction/water to coffee ratio/grind size
• Brew time/equipment
• Water temperature/water quality/brew turbulence
• Immersion, gravity and pressure
• Cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting
SCA Brewing Foundation is a 6-hour long course.
This course is globally accredited via the Speciality Coffee Association (SCA) and you can take the optional SCA Certified Exam at the end of the day at an additional cost of £30 which will earn you 5 points towards your Coffee Skills Programme.
